We make custom sublimated uniforms, warm-ups, and spirit wear for track and cross country programs, and that focus is the whole point. It is all we do, and it is who we build for.
Founded in 1982 by collegiate runner and coach Dave Bartels, Blue Star was purchased by his daughter Justine Burdette in 2023. Forty years in, coaches still come back for the same reason: a process they can trust and people who actually know running.
Meet the People Behind Blue Star
Justine Burdette
Owner and CEO
Justine grew up in this business, stuffing mailers and cleaning silk screens as a kid. A former cross country and track athlete, she still coaches Girls on the Run. She brings 20 years of leadership across economic development, media, and consulting, and took over as second-generation owner in 2023. She runs Blue Star with clarity, trust, and a focus on getting it right.
Terry Hossink
Co-Owner and Chief Operating Officer
Terry runs operations, which makes him the reason orders move on time and arrive right. He brings a 30-year manufacturing career, from die setter to plant manager. Grounded and straightforward, he is the steady hand behind the no-surprises promise. Outside of work, he is a husband, father of four, and grandfather of nine.
